During the week of November 3, 2019, the Songwriters Hall of Fame announced its nominees for 2020. Among the candidates in the performer category are The Isley Brothers, Journey, Mike Love, Steve Miller, Patti Smith, and David Gates of Bread. Other prospective inductees include songwriters Tony Macaulay, Roger Nichols, and the songwriting teams, Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and L. Russell Brown & Irwin Levine. The induction ceremonies will take place June 11, 2020 in New York City.
